Commodore Randy Jones: When I am not sailing at Brookville, which is about every weekend, 1
April to 1 Nov., I am working on or riding one of my Harleys, restoring
one of my 37 Chevy's, making wine, fixing a toilet at one of my rental
homes or watching a grandbaby. I learned to sail at Brookville on a
Venture 222, after 15 years I moved up to a 25 Catalina, then after 3
years to a Catalina 310. My wife Janice and I have also sailed the
Chesapeake and the Caribbean. After 31 years in construction management,
I retired to have time for the important things. This is my first time
on the board of B.L.S.A. although I've been involved with the club for
nearly 27 years. Windy, the dog, loves to sail too.

Secretary Chris Carr: It's good to be serving on the board again-- I was harbor master 1988- 90 (wow that was a while ago). I'm a retired P&G engineer who is now working on his Ph.D. in Geography, on the environmental impacts of outdoor recreation. My research takes me camping, hiking, rock climbing and boating all around the US and into Central America. I started sailing 45 or so years ago, including sail charters to the Great
Lakes, all over Florida, the Bahamas, VI's, and including great BLSA trips to Chesapeake Bay in '91 and '95. Look for Kathleen, whippets Merlin and Mitzi and me on the Hanna Creek docks.

Harbor Master Cory Chadwick: I was born in Graham, Washington and received my undergraduate degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Washington (Go Huskies) in Seattle. My Masters, in Environmental Management, is from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. I retired from the Air Force in 1989 after 21 years of service. Before I was commissioned, I spent six years as an electronics
radar repairman. After commissioning, I worked as a weather officer, I.G. Inspector, and finally an
environmental manager for the last four years of my military career. I was first introduced to
sailing in Colorado on Pueblo Reservoir (1978) which is just south of Colorado Springs, Colorado which is also
where I met my wife Lin, who has most of the family sailing experience (she grew up with sailboats). Our first boat was a 23 foot Watkins we sailed on Tampa Bay, Florida (1980). We purchased a new 27' U.S. Yacht in 1982. Our current and last boat is a 31'
Tartan. Lin and I enjoy our three granddaughters, Ella and Morgan
from our Son Bret and Kendall from our daughter Kym. We also have a brand new puppy (West Highland Terrier). Other interests include: attending first run movies with Lin, reading fiction in the winter time,
playing tennis, riding my motorcycle, and listening to music through a high end stereo system (audiophile).

Mike Chrisman, Social Director & Webmaster: I am a Cincinnati native who fell in love with sailing as a young kid during a few memorable summers in Maine. Growing up, my dad and I enjoyed sailing together on the family boat he kept at Brookville. My first boat was a wooden Optimist pram that I bought when I was 12. The experience made me a big fan of fiberglass keelboats. I got back into sailing as an adult about 2001
when I decided
I missed being
on the water and
wanted a boat. My partner Bill Ralston and I purchased a 24 ft O’Day, spent year on a buoy at Fairfield and ended up at Hanna Creek the following year. Never having sailed before, Bill has been a good sport and a fast learner. We currently sail the Catalina 250 WK Escape from Hanna Creek slip 38. I am a graduate of Miami and have an MBA from Xavier. Early in my career I worked in several areas related to IT, but ultimately found a home in the insurance industry. I currently work as a business analyst,
which
draws on both my insurance and IT experience. My other hobbies include kayaking, photography and hiking.

Bill Beglin, Communications Director: Sailing has been my recreational passion since I learned at the age of 14 at Culver Military Academy's summer school. I received my engineering degree from Virginia Tech and started my career with Monsanto in Cincinnati. My first sailboat was a 16' Wayfarer. I began sailing on Brookville lake out of Egypt Hollow in 1976 on my Hobie 16. I met Bob Smith and Steve Tacy there and at the time there
were 20 or so Hobie's sailing
out of the 'Hollow'.
Things changed in '82 when my daughter Lauren was born and we moved up to a Capri 25, got a dock at Hanna Creek in it's inaugural year and joined BLSA. With the addition of David two years later I traded up to a Catalina 27 until I sold it in '89 with a move to Chicago as VP Operations for NutraSweet. In '96 I moved to Indianapolis. For a few years I bummed rides and racing crewed for Steve Tacy and in spring of 2003 bought a Hunter 26.5, followed by the Beneteau 323 in 2005. I was on the BLSA board in the eighties
and again in 2005 and 6.
